Williamson to the fore in Owls' wins
Katie Williamson of Southern Connecticut State recorded two double-doubles last week as the Owls defeated Dominican (N.Y.), 68-60, and Caldwell, 70-50, in New Haven in women’s basketball. The 6-1 junior out of Dublin scored 11 points and reeled in 10 caroms on Tuesday against Dominican. She made five of 10 field goal attempts and one of two free throws. Sunday’s win over Caldwell saw Williamson pull down 14 boards, reject three Cougar shots and chip in 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the floor and 2-of-2 from the foul line. SCSU is 4-1.
