JetBlue Eyes Emerald Isle

U.S. discount airline JetBlue will fly to Dublin from New York's JFK and Boston's Logan Airport beginning March 13, 2024.

The arrival of JetBlue on the Dublin route adds to what is already a competitive array of carriers serving the Irish capital from the U.S.

Aer Lingus, Delta, United and American currently fly to Dublin across the Atlantic and from an array of U.S. cities

The Jetblue flights will be daily and non-stop and the chosen aircraft will be the Airbus A321 Neo. The service will be seasonal from March 13 to September 30.

Robin Hayes, JetBlue’s chief executive, said Dublin was an “exciting new destination” for the airline.

“We have long recognized the strategic importance of Ireland and its strong value proposition as an attractive country to visit and do business in. We realize value and choice is just as important in the Irish market as in the US and are pleased to introduce our award-winning product to Irish customers,” he said.

According to an Irish Times report, Vincent Harrison, Dublin Airport’s chief commercial and development officer, said: “We welcome JetBlue’s decision to launch two new transatlantic services from Dublin Airport. These new daily services to Boston and New York will offer additional choice and convenience for passengers on both sides of the Atlantic, supporting the tourism and trade links between the US and Ireland.”

Jetblue is headquartered in Long Island City, Queens.

In recent years it has been expanding its transatlantic services with flights from New York to London, Amsterdam, and Paris, and from Boston to London and Amsterdam. Paris is to be added next year. The carrier has also announced a new route from JFK to Edinburgh beginning in May 2024.
