Elizabeth Crowley, candidate for Queens Borough President, visited EMTs in Queens, helping to bring lunch and thanking frontline workers for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Crowley spoke with EMTs in Elmhurst, Rockaway, and Jamaica. She is calling for New York City to set up frontline worker specific testing sites to take care of those who take care of the public during the Coronavirus pandemic. Currently Emergency Workers who are sick with COVID-19 symptoms are not getting tested and are asked to come back 3 days after symptoms subside.
“Our borough is being hit the hardest. Queens has always been underserved, but now more than ever we need to protect the health and safety of our frontline workers in the war against COVID-19," said Crowley in a statement.
