The exhibition, curated by the Hamilton Gallery in Sligo, features art works by 129 artists, each of which takes its title from a line from or is otherwise inspired by W. B. Yeats’s poem “Nineteen Hundred and Nineteen.” Ciarán Cannon, Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade with special responsibility for the Diaspora and International Development, was among the speakers at the launch, as was the New York Public Library’s Director of Exhibitions Declan Kiely, who explained the context of the poem.
