The Poor Mouth Theatre Company returns with “Little Red Riding Hood– Holiday Pantomime” for four performances: tomorrow Thursday at 8:00pm, Saturday, for (2 shows) 2 p.m. & 7 p.m. shows, and Sunday at 2 p.m.
The show will be performed at An Beal Bocht Café, 445 West 238th Street in Riverdale, the Bronx. Tickets are available at the café and at BrownPaperTickets.com. Admission is $18 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and under.
This Poor Mouth stress that this is a “pantomime in the Irish/English sense and a not silent performance. That means songs and comedy as well as audience participation. Cheer for the heroes and boo the villains, sing along to the songs and have fun and laughs along the way.”
“Bring the kids but we guarantee adults will enjoy this,” said the company’s Don Creedon.
“Little Red Riding Hood is sent to her Grandmother’s hovel in the woods by her Mother with firm instructions not to talk to anyone along the way. What happens? She gets chatted up by the Woodsman and talks way too much to the Wolf with unfortunate consequences for Granny as well as putting Red in harm’s way.”
Written and directed by Scott Kennedy with music direction by Richard Hockstein, Kathryn Donnelly and Suzanne Hockstein, the Panto features a cast including George Roach, Corinne Delaney, Aoife Williamson, Michelle Hendee, Suzanne Hockstein, Kathryn Donnelly and Richard Hockstein. Parody songs by Scott Kennedy. Costumes and set design by Suzanne Hockstein. Audio and sound design by Don Creedon. Running time is about 1 hour.
