Members of the Michael Collins Gaelic Football Club met with Alexandria, Virginia Mayor Allison Silberberg to celebrate the club’s victory in the US GAA Football National Championship. The club won the Junior D Division, open to teams without Irish-born players, at the US GAA Championship in Philadelphia. The victory by the Alexandria-based Michael Collins, founded in 2008, marked a major expansion for Gaelic football in Northern Virginia, with the establishment of a youth program earlier this year.
