Blue Skies for tenth Hudson Fest

A large attendance and great weather marked ten years of the Hudson Valley Irish Fest on Saturday, September 29. The festival was organized by AOH and LAOH Division 18 Peekskill. Dan Dennehy, Fest founding chair and AOH New York State Director Aidan O'Kelly Lynch were presented with a heritage grant of $15,000 from the Emigrant Support Program at the Irish Abroad Unit of the Department of Foreign Affairs, by newly arrived Sean O'hAodha, Deputy Consul General of Ireland. Terrence Murphy, NY Senate, Sandy Galef, NYS Assembly, Linda Pugliese, Cortlandt Supervisor and John Testa made presentations. Peekskill Mayor Andre Rainey, Peekskill Councilor Ramon Fernandez, and Cortlandt Councilor Creighton participated in the Fest. Pictured and joining representatives of the NY Rose of Tralee Center and Irish singing group Two Wee Lassies are Aidan O’Kelly Lynch, Terrence Murphy, NY Senate, Deputy Consul General Sean O'hAodha, Assembly Member Sandy Galef, Dan Dennehy, Kathie Talbot, Peekskill City Council, Debbie Carter Costello, Cortlandt Councilor, Fiona Brennan, HVIF Inc.
