The newly unveiled statue of 19th century New York Archbishop John Hughes stands guard close to Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan. The memorial sculpture, the work of renowned Irish Sculptor Rowan Gillespie, was unveiled by a successor of Hughes, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, on Sunday, November 22.
