Henry Coyle, the Chicago-based light middleweight from County Mayo, captured the vacant WBF light middleweight title via a fifth round TKO of Italian Elio Cotena at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar in his native county last Saturday. Cotena suffered a bad cut above his eye from an accidental clash of heads and saw his record drop to 18-6-5 [4 KOs]. The hard punching Coyle, nicknamed "The Western Warrior," improved to 16-2 [13 KOs].
