Writer, actor and raconteur Malachy McCourt will be delivering a free lecture this Sunday, May 15 at the world headquarters of the Maryknoll missionaries in Ossining, New York.
The lecture, set to run from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. is entitled "Good God! Where Am I?"
"I believe our purpose on this earth is to serve. We can do that simply with a cup of coffee, piece of clothing, a kind word, or by sharing a laugh and helping the sick get well. And there's nothing that compels us to act more than seeing God's love in the face of a child," said McCourt about and in advance of the lecture.
Brooklyn-born McCourt is a New York Times bestselling author for his memoir, "A Monk Swimming," and has written several other award-winning books. He recently appeared on the Conan O'Brien Show and the Late, Late Show on Irish television.
The Maryknoll Mission Center is at 55 Ryder Road, Ossining, in Westchester County. Details on the McCourt lecture and directions are available from Colleen Brathwaite at CBrathwaite@Maryknoll.org or (914)941-7636 ext. 2445.
