Heather McMann is Executive Director of Groundwork Lawrence (GWL), a non-profit which has been improving the environment and health of Lawrence, Massachusetts since 2001. GWL makes environmental and open space improvements and offers healthy food programming, youth initiatives, and community education and events. GWL is an affiliate of GroundworkUSA. Prior to GWL, McMann worked as an independent consultant preparing nonprofits for growth. With over 15 years experience in the nonprofit sector, much of her experience has focused on creating our communities' next generation of environmental and social justice leaders. McMann is currently an MBA Candidate at The Heller School of Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and she received her B.A. from Smith College. In addition, McMann is a Board Member for the Lawrence History Center and she and her husband foster dogs for the MSPCA at Nevins Farm. A resident of Haverhill, McMann serves on the city's Brownfields Steering Commission.
