Dear Editor,
On behalf of HEAL Palestine, I want to express our deep gratitude to the Irish Echo and to the organizers of Keening for Gaza in New York on 26 February for your generous support during this terrible time of massacring and starving of the people of Gaza.
The connection between Ireland and Palestine runs deep, shaped by histories of colonial violence, resistance, and the resilience of a long-oppressed but proud people. That legacy was powerfully alive at your event, and it is felt every day in our work on the ground in Gaza.
At HEAL Palestine, we are working to ensure that Gaza children — orphaned, displaced, but still full of life — have access to urgent medical care, education, and hope. Your gift will go directly towards healing them. And in their names, we ask you and your readers to continue standing with us.
In this dark time, we’re reminded that solidarity is not a slogan — it’s an action. Thank you for showing the world what it looks like.
With respect and gratitude,
Steve Sosebee, Executive Director, HEAL Palestine
Publisher's Note: The 'Caoineadh for Gaza - A Keening for Gaza' at the American Irish Historical Society premises in New York raised over $7,000 for HEAL Palestine, a U.S.-registered charity which provides aid to child victims of the war on Gaza at American hospitals.
