Ballygunner canter to win in Munster, set up semi vs. Ballyhale
With respect to their provincial opponents, the 2022 club championship for Ballygunner was not so much about retaining their Munster title as meeting Ballyhale Shamrocks in the All-Ireland semi-final on Sunday week to prove their late, late final win in February was no fluke.

Williamson to the fore in Owls' wins
Katie Williamson of Southern Connecticut State recorded two double-doubles last week as the Owls defeated Dominican (N.Y.), 68-60, and Caldwell, 70-50, in New Haven in women’s basketball. The 6-1 junior out of Dublin scored 11 points and reeled in 10 caroms on Tuesday against Dominican. She made five of 10 field goal attempts and one of two free throws. Sunday’s win over Caldwell saw Williamson pull down 14 boards, reject three Cougar shots and chip in 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the floor and 2-of-2 from the foul line. SCSU is 4-1.
