Niamh Drury
Where do you live? NYC.
Current company and position? I currently work as an Intellectual Property and Licensing Counsel for Amplify Education, Inc., which is a leading provider of K-12 curriculum and assessment materials, serving teachers and students across the United States. In this role, I primarily counsel marketing, product, and corporate development teams on matters related to intellectual property, licensing, and publishing. I love this job as I get to work with content creators and provide input on branding and marketing strategies.
First job and what it taught me? My first "real" job in the industry was working as a law clerk for a corporate firm in New York, doing a mix of intellectual property, litigation, and real estate work. This role taught me that taking initiative pays off, and that good mentors are invaluable!
How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I embrace my Irish heritage by going to as many Irish-American networking events as I can. I recently joined the Executive Board of the Irish Business Organization of New York, after volunteering with them since I first moved over in 2019, and am also a regular attendee of the Irish American Bar Association of New York's events. Recently, I started going to the pop-up Gaeltachts in the City, where I speak to fellow Gaeilgeoirs and enjoy live trad music!
Something people would be surprised to know about me... I used to play the harp!
