Kevin Curtin

Where do you live? Ossining, NY.

Current company and position? NYSNA (New York State Nurses Association) Union Representative.

First job and what it taught me? My first job was as a busboy in a restaurant. There were immigrant workers who worked hard day in and day out and barely had enough money to survive. It taught me to fight for the rights of others, especially low-income workers and immigrants like my own family when they came to the country who are too often taken advantage of.

How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I embrace my Irish heritage by visiting family in the country, listening to Irish music, attending Irish events, and studying other Irish labor leaders that fought on behalf of working-class people like James Connolly.

Something people would be surprised to know about me... I have traveled to almost 30 countries.
