Keelie Sheridan.

Where do you live? Buffalo, NY.

Current company and position? Irish Classical Theatre Company- Artistic Director.

First job and what it taught me? I did a lot of babysitting in my younger years- if you can manage a group of wild kids, you can manage anyone!

How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I grew up Irish step dancing with my sisters in Saratoga Springs, NY, and then later in NYC. As I started training and working as an actor, I found myself gravitating to the works of Irish writers, which led me to pursuing a George Mitchell Scholarship through the US Ireland Alliance, and being the first from that program to receive a MFA in Theatre Directing from Trinity College Dublin/ The Lir. I'm now the Artistic Director of the Irish Classical Theatre Company in Buffalo, NY, and have the opportunity to introduce Irish playwrights to US audiences, and to explore an expansive and inclusive picture of contemporary Ireland and its diaspora.

Something people would be surprised to know about me... I competed with the Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance in the 2009 Irish Dance World Championships in the Dance Drama category.
