Current company and position? 1st job - Westchester County Board of Legislators - Westchester County Legislator District 15 Yonkers, Bronxville, and Eastchester. 2nd job - The City of Yonkers - Sanitation worker.
First job and what it taught me? Gas station attendant and that if you work hard and have dreams, they can become reality.
How do you embrace your Irish heritage? I am one of two legislators that is Irish at the Westchester County board of legislators and I was taught by my family the Irish work hard mentality which I carry with me throughout my life.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... That every day I work anywhere from 16-18 hours my first job as a sanitation worker and union member with the Teamsters and then when I am done, I become an elected official.
Biography: James was elected in November 2021 as Westchester County Legislator, District 15. James is the oldest of four brothers. James grew up in Yonkers and attended Yonkers Public Schools. James graduated from Western Oklahoma State College with his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. James has been an active union member for over a decade. In 2016, after his brother Michael was tragically murdered, James founded The Michael Nolan Foundation in his memory to provide scholarships to graduates of Yonkers Public Schools. James resides in Yonkers with his wife Dianne and their daughter.
