Darragh Garvey

Where do you live? Yonkers.

Current company and position? Co-owner of the MGF Group Building Supplies.

First job and what it taught me? I worked in a small supermarket called Spar in my home town of Phibsboro in Dublin. I was around 15 years of age when the owner (TAIGH) gave me a shot with three shifts a week soon I was running the counter and known for making the best chicken fillet rolls on the north side of Dublin :)

This job thought me the importance of how the customer is always right (even though at times they may be not be) it also taught me the importance of treating everyone with respect and always trying to go the extra mile to ensure that the person walks away from the whole experience happy and wants to keep in touch.

How do you embrace your Irish heritage? My 6-month-old son shea is never out of his Dublin jersey so I think that speaks for itself. I love the Woodlawn/Queens Irish Community as it always provides a sense of home. I love the GAA and my beloved DUBS.

Something people would be surprised to know about me...   I LOVE HARRY POTTER.
