Job Description? Firefighter, Captain, City of Elizabeth Fire Department.
Why I chose this career? Looked up to my Father, Grandfather, and uncles, who were all were first responders. Ultimately the bravery of first responders on 9/11 was so admirable, being a firefighter was career goal.
Proudest moment of my career? Being promoted to the rank of Fire Captain this past March 2024.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... Father was police officer but I went opposite route as firefighter.
Biography: Daniel Beirne Jr. was born and raised in the City of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Continue to reside here and ultimately became firefighter and have 17 years complete. Served as the President of the Elizabeth Firefighters Labor Union (NJ FMBA #9) representing over 200 career firefighters from 2020-2024. Lifelong ice hockey player and continue to compete in police and fire charity games. Dog lover. Volunteer and executive board member of the “Where Angels Play” foundation.
