Why I chose this career? My younger brother Bob was a Jersey City Firefighter, and encouraged me to take the job.
Proudest moment of my career? Making several rescues of civilians during my career and working Ground Zero searching for survivors after 9-11 attacks.
Something people would be surprised to know about me... I'm a pretty good Artist, studying commercial art in school.
Biography: Deputy Chief Bill McClintock was born in Jersey City at the Margret Hague in May of 1960 to Jean and Bill (Irish) McClintock (Dad was born in Derry, Ireland) Grew up on Fairmount Avenue, attended PS#17 Kindergarten, Attended St. Aloysius Grammar School, 3 Yrs. St. Aloysius HS/ Graduated St. Mary's HS with High Honor in 1978.
Baseball Player for Local 641 in West Side Little League, setting the single season Homerun Record of 17 in 18 games. Greenville Babe Ruth Athlete of the Year 1975, Champions with Faberge.
Grammar School and High School Baseball All Star Game Most Valuable Player awards, 1974, 1978.
Jersey City State College Gothic Baseball, NJ. College All Star 1981, 82.
Graduated from New Jersey City University with honors in 2007, BS Fire Science Degree.
Married to Wife Tara for 39 yrs. With 2 children, Joseph and Melissa, and 1 Grandchild, Rocco.
Jersey City Fire Department, 1988 to present, 35+ years of dedicated service, have only worked at the Busiest companies... Engine 20, Engine 9, Rescue 1 and Battalion 2,
Promoted to Captain in 2008, Battalion Chief in 2011, and Deputy Chief in 2018. Currently the Tour Commander of City wide Operations on Group B. Awarded 13 FD Meritorious Awards for Rescues, Service and Bravery.
Before becoming a Firefighter, I was a Disc Jockey. I used these skills to assist my Brother and Sisters on the FDJC during their times of Hardship and loss... Such as....
