Tom Whelan is retired president of Nemer Fieger, a Minneapolis-based advertising firm. His previous career was in sales management and publishing, with positions at Minnesota Monthly magazine, the Star Tribune in Minneapolis-St. Paul and the Chicago Tribune in Chicago and New York City.
His involvement in the community includes work with Irish Fair, Memorial Blood Centers and ICA Food Shelf. He is also a mentor in the Page Scholars program.
Whelan is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and, with wife Marty, lives in Minnetonka, MN. They have three adult children and three grandchildren.
