Lou Petrucci has deep Irish roots in Buffalo through his Cavanaugh ancestors. He is a founder of Goin’ South and the not-for-profit, Can You Dig It, Inc. The South Buffalo Irish Feis and the Gaelic Street sign project are the organization’s best known efforts. Petrucci retired from the City of Buffalo as Deputy Commissioner and presently is the Executive Director of Supportive Services. He represented South Buffalo for 11 years on the Buffalo Board of Education where he was elected president twice.
Petrucci has degrees in Russian and International Relations from Allegheny College and a Master’s in Public Administration from Hilbert.
