John McDonagh is a playwright and storyteller whose career as a NYC yellow cab driver for 40 years has many stories about the mean streets of New York. John wrote and performs the one-man-play "Off the Meter, On the Record," which was directed by Ciaran O'Reilly and ran at the Irish Repertory Theatre. John has performed Off the Meter in Ireland and throughout the US.  He is on the Board of Directors for the Irish American Writers and Artist. John is also a U.S. Army veteran. He is currently working on a screenplay with David Gilna Dublin Production Company, based on a fictionalized account of the Bainbridge area of the Bronx in the 1990s.
