For the third year running, Buffalo, NY — 'Capital of Irish America' — will play host to the Irish Echo's glittering awards gala recognising the 'Heroes of Irish America'.
While many of the awardees at the 22 May celebration in the Buffalo Convention Center will hail from Western New York, a call is also going out for nominations for exemplary Irish Americans from across the nation.
In previous years, recipients of the Irish Echo accolade have come from as far away as San Antonio, TX and San Francisco, CA to be feted in Buffalo.
Congressman Tim Kennedy, driving force behind the Buffalo hooley is planning to roll out "the green carpet" for Irish American visitors to the 'City of Good Neighbors'.
"We're excited to have the opportunity once more to showcase Irish Buffalo — from our famed James Joyce collection at the University at Buffalo, to our bilingual street names in the Irish Heritage District in our South Buffalo Neighborhood, to our Irish Classical Theatre. I look forward to cheering on both our local champions of Irish America and our visitors from across America."
Nominations are now open for the Heroes of Irish American Gala on our website.
