From August 10-17, 2025, novelist S. Kirk Walsh (of the national bestseller The Elephant of Belfast) and award-winning poet and Fulbright recipient Jenny Browne are offering a weeklong workshop in Dublin and Belfast.
Writers will arrive in Dublin on August 10, spending two days there, visiting some of the city's memorable literary sites, such as MoLI, the Museum of Literature Ireland and James Joyce Tower and Museum. The group will travel north to Belfast, where five days are planned with workshops, one-on-one sessions, excursions, readings by local authors, and more.
The design of the workshop is to be immersive both in the place and literature of Ireland as well as being suited for all kinds of writers (fiction writers, poets, nonfiction writers) as well as beginner writers and more advanced writers.
"During the research process of my novel about Northern Ireland during World War II, the people of Belfast gave me so much in the way of research, stories, and connection," says Walsh. "A part of this workshop is to give back to Belfast, to expose American writers to the rich literary traditions that are deeply rooted in this distinct place as well as Dublin.
