The Martin McGuinness Peace Foundation has announced that the 4th Annual Chieftain’s Walk in
Support of Irish Reunification will step off in Manhattan on Sunday, September
15th.
This year’s walk, said a release, will focus on the theme of Irish Reunification, honoring the
legacy of Martin McGuinness and his lifelong commitment to a united Ireland.
The Chieftain’s Walk will begin at 10 a.m. at the Irish Hunger Memorial at 290 Vesey Street,
Battery Park City. Participants, continued the release, "will walk together along the scenic Westside Greenway, spreading the message of peace and unity along the Hudson River in the spirit of peace,
reconciliation, and shared purpose, reflecting McGuinness's dedication to fostering unity in
Ireland.
"This year, we are also excited to introduce special Chieftain’s Walk T-shirts themed
around Irish Reunification. These shirts will be available for purchase, with all proceeds
supporting the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote peace and unity in Ireland. Be sure
to wear your T-shirt proudly as you join the walk. Special guests from Ireland will once again be joining us, reinforcing the enduring transatlantic bonds and collective commitment to Martin McGuinness’s vision of peace and a reunited Ireland."
