The results are in: Travel + Leisure revealed the winners of its 2024 “World's Best Awards” last week, highlighting the best travel destinations and hotels across the globe in categories that range from “Top 10 World’s Best Cities” to “World’s Best Destination Spa.” Irish hotels and resorts were some of the biggest winners
In the “Five Favorite Resorts in the UK and Ireland” category, four of the top five spots were captured by long-standing favorites among travelers to Ireland. The spectacular Regency mansion Ballyfin (Ballyfin, Co. Laois) took the #1 spot, followed by Ashford Castle (Cong, Co. Mayo), Adare Manor (Adare, Co. Limerick), and The Lodge at Ashford Castle. Gleneagles (Auchterarder, Scotland) ranked #5. In the “Favorite Resorts” category, hotels are rated based on rooms/facilities, location, service, food, and value. More than 700,000 votes were cast across more than 8,700 properties this year.
Cashel Palace (Cashel, Co. Tipperary) logged in at #12 in the “30 Favorite Hotels in Europe” category. This year's awards highlighted the top city hotels and resorts across Europe, showcasing the continent's finest accommodations. Despite the attention on Paris for the upcoming Olympics, and on London for grabbing 8 of the top city spots, Cashel Palace managed to capture the spotlight for Ireland in this category, joining prestigious hotels like Raffles London, Hotel de la Ville in Rome, and Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo. Cashel Palace's inclusion in this elite list underscores its commitment to providing guests with an authentic luxury experience.
