Protest Leads to Book of Kells Closure

Pic of Day: The Book of Kells at Trinity College is closed to visitors as is much of the campus, this in face of a protest by students supporting Palestine and calling for the university to cut its ties with Israel. The Book of Kells, lately dubbed "The Book of Kells Experience," is highly popular with American visitors to Dublin. The Irish Times reported a spokeswoman for Trinity confirming that the Book of Kells, the entrance to which is currently blocked by stacked benches, would remain closed on Tuesday and that customers with paid bookings would be refunded. The photo, by RollingNews.ie, shows some of the protestors outside the university's main entrance.
