New York City Irish Dance Fest for Pier 1 on Sunday, May 5

The New York City Irish Dance Festival 2024 will take place on this Sunday, May 5, from 12 noon through 6 p.m. at Pier 1 on the Hudson River, end of West 70th Street, Manhattan (enter at 68th Street)

The 23rd annual festival [#NYCIDF24] will feature live Irish dance and music, with “talks, performances, workshops, and general excitement!”

A statement from the organizers said, “This annual celebration of Irish dance features traditional and contemporary Irish dance from notable professional and student talent from around the region.

“Audiences can immerse themselves in Irish arts and culture with participatory workshops, music sessions, Irish language conversations, and social dancing for all ages, among many other offerings. The evening ends with a lively céilí for all, with live music!

“The Pier I Cafe will be open, serving fabulous food and delectable drinks!”

Free Admission and all are welcome. It will take place rain or shine.

Groups performing include Niall O'Leary Irish Dance Troupe; Darrah Carr Dance; McGough Academy of Irish Dance; Kahiry Bess; Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance. Also involved are Pop-Up Gaeltacht w/ @Vivienne_in_NYC, and live usic with Dan Foster (fiddle), Colin Forhan (guitar, banjo) and Kieran McCarthy Fell (flute, whistle).
