Photo of the Day: Former U.S. Senator and 2000 vice presidential candidate Joe Lieberman has died at the age of 82. The Democrat and later Independent Democrat attended the 2008 Irish American Presidential Forum in Scranton, PA which made history as it was attended for the first time by the Republican presidential candidate, Senator John McCain. As Echo editor Ray O'Hanlon's book "Unintended Consequences" would later state: "McCain was accompanied to the stage by fellow Republican senators Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. The former had loomed large in the immigration debate, the latter would loom larger as time passed. Also on stage - and he was given a huge cheer by the crowd - was independent Democrat Joe Lieberman from Connecticut."
