Pic of Day: Military service has been a lifelong dream for Westchester County Legislator David Tubiolo (D -Yonkers). Recognizing that the United States Armed Forces suffers from a recruitment shortage, he made the decision to pursue this dream last summer at the age of 35 by enrolling with the U.S. Army. He first completed Basic Combat Training, then Officer Candidate School where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in January of this year. Lieutenant Tubiolo is following in a family tradition of military service with family members having served in World War I, world War II and Vietnam. As a county legislator, Tubiolo has been on active duty for a number of years on issues of concern to Irish America.
