The Hudson Valley Irish Fest is set for this Saturday, September 23 at Riverfront Park, Peekskill in New York's Westchester County.
Organizers are promising a full day of music, dance, literary talks and entertainment for the kids alongside food and drink, and all beside the banks of the majestic Hudson River.
Shilelagh Law and the T. McCann Band are but two of an array of musical acts lined up for the main stage on the day. Also taking place will be a 9/11 Commemoration with Massed Pipe Bands and a special first time appearance by world-renowned artist Daisy Jopling.
Darren Kiely, billed as a Folk/Alternative Recording Artist from Millstreet, County Cork in also expected to perform.
In the Jack McAndrew Memorial Trad Tent performers and performances include Mary Courtney, Donie Carroll and Patrick Madden, Clan na hEireann School of Irish Dance, an Open Seisiun with the Rising of The Moon Seisiun Players, the Clan na hEireann School of Irish Dance and an Open Seisiun with Don Meade and Liam O’Neill.
This year the Festival's Spoken Word Tent will feature Dr. Ruan O'Donnell, Marcia Loughran, Derek Dempsey, Siobhan Regan and John Kearns, Peter Jacob Streitz, John Munnelly, Bernadette Cullen, Mike Farragher, Maura Mulligan, Lauren Howard, Anthony Murphy, Heidi Daniele, Annalisa Chamberlin and Kathleen Donohoe.
