Pic of Day: Former Maryland governor and one time presidential hopeful Martin O’Malley has been appointed commissioner of the Social Security Administration by President Biden.
O’Malley, who was Maryland governor from 2007 to 2015, ran for the Democratic nomination for president in 2016. Prior to being elected governor O'Malley, who has long been prominent in Irish American political circles, was mayor of Baltimore.
At age 60, O'Malley is still five years shy of Medicare entitlement, and given that he now has this paying job he will likely not be drawing social security.
