Starting on Thursday, April 27, Aer Lingus will be moving its operations to a new terminal at John F Kennedy International Airport in New York.
"We will be welcoming passengers to our new home in New York’s JFK Terminal 7," stated a release from the Irish carrier.
Added the release: "The move is a part of our overall transatlantic growth strategy. All of our flights will depart from and arrive into Terminal 7. Just like always, we look forward to welcoming you when you arrive and waving you off when it's time to go."
Currently, and in recent years, Aer Lingus has been operating at JFK out of Terminal 5, the Jet Blue terminal.
Prior to this, the Aer Lingus operation was based at Terminal 4.
Until recently, Terminal 7 was operated by British Airways. But BA has moved its operation to Terminal 8 where it now operates alongside American Airlines. Aer Lingus is a partner of British Airways in the International Airlines Group.
All the moves are taking place against the backdrop of a massive $18 billion project to update New York's, and one of the world's, major air hubs.
According to Aer Lingus, flights from Manchester in England will arrive into New York JFK Terminal 7 from 11th April. Flights to Manchester will depart from New York Terminal 5 until 26th April. All flights between Ireland and New York JFK operate from Terminal 5 until Wednesday, 26th April.
Terminal 7 is on the north side of JFK International Airport. It has, according to the Aer Lingus release, "12 departure gates with lots of convenient facilities, including free Wi-Fi, ATMs, currency exchange, stores and duty free, restaurants, food and cafés, a family room and lots of seating."
