Photo of the Day: The Irish Business Organization of New York marked its 50th anniversary with a “Celebration of the Irish in New York” on Tuesday, October 24 at the Chelsea Piers overlooking New York Harbor. The organizations honored were the United Irish Counties Association which received the Community Leadership Award; the Irish Repertory Theatre, recipient of the Cultural Leadership Award; Glucksman Ireland House, which was presented with the Distinguished Service to Education Award; the Ireland Funds, recipient of the Distinguished Service in Global Philanthropy Award, and the Bank of Ireland, which was honored with the Excellence in Financial Services Award. Mary Burke, pictured here and longtime banquet manager for Rosie O'Grady's, was presented with the Arthur F. Clements Founder's Award for a lifetime of selfless service to the community.
