The NYC Poetry Festival is back. And the Irish American Writers and Artists will be participating for the first time in the 2002 event, which will be held on Governor's Island on this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10 and 11.
“We are hosting a membership table, as well as members bringing their chapbooks or novels and information about upcoming theatre or musical events or even classes they are holding,” an IAW&A spokesperson said. “Our member poetry reading will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Blackbird event featuring Marcia Loughran, Margaret McCarthy, Maureen Hossbacher and Mike Veve.” Jenifer Kelly will host.
“This is their first time back live since 2019 so it is kind of thrilling! Tons of poetry readings and vendors as well as open mics throughout the days,” the spokesperson added.
