Remembering Con Houlihan

Con Houlihan, the legendary and beloved County Kerry-born sports writer for the Press Group and other papers, was remembered on the 10th anniversary of his death last evening at the Lower Deck, Portobello, Dublin. Picture at the back are Dolores Kelly, a friend of Houlihan’s, and Liam Ryan, owner of the Lower Deck, a pub close to where the journalist lived; at the front are Frank Greally, left, who organized the event, Harriet Duffin, whom Con referred to in the 35 years of their relationship as his “friend-girl,” and the Echo’s Séan Creedon, who wrote the Ireland's Own cover story about Houlihan.
