The Cleveland Mayo Society has named Entrepreneur Michael E. Gibbons as its Person of the Year.
A native Clevelander with roots in Counties Mayo and Leitrim, Gibbons was honored at the Green and Red Ball of the Cleveland Mayo Society at the International Hotel.
Gibbons is a graduate of one of Cleveland’s prestigious Catholic High Schools, St. Ignatius. He obtained from Kenyon College a B.A., cum laude and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland.
He is currently a Senior Managing Director, Principal and founder of Brown Gibbons Lang & Company where he plays an active senior role to client engagements and business development opportunities. Most recently he was a senatorial candidate to replace retiring Ohio Senator Rob Portman.
His business involvements are all noteworthy but too numerous to mention. They include serving on the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Advisory Board for U.S. Bank Corp., Minneapolis, Minnesota; Board of trustees; Visiting Committee for Case Western Reserve University; Weatherhead School of Management, Cleveland, Ohio; Past Chairman of the Board of Directors for Global M&A Partners Ltd. in Dublin, Ireland.
Mike and his spouse Diane are parishioners at St. Angela Church, Fairview Park. They are the parents of five children: Megan, Caitlin, Connor, Ryan and Michael. And they have five grandchildren.
