Atlanta to go green for annual IrishFest

Legendary Irish bands Altán and Lúnasa will top the bill at the 10th annual IrishFest Atlanta in November.

This year’s event will be a two-day affair, taking place in various indoor and outdoor venues in Historic Roswell on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5.

The festival features free programming that includes music and dance performances, family fun activities, lectures, and an Irish céilí where all can join this social dancing experience. Ticketed events include evening concerts with Altan & Lúnasa; music, song and dance workshops; an Irish Tea with the Consul General of Ireland, Atlanta; and whiskey and food tastings.

IrishFest Atlanta launched in November 2013 to promote the culture of Ireland through the country’s traditional music, song, dance, and language. The vision of IrishFest Atlanta’s original founders was to create a weekend of cultural performances, lectures, and workshops in a festive environment, appealing to community members of all ages and varying familiarity of all things Irish.

IrishFest Atlanta is sponsored by Phoenix Irish Arts of Atlanta, a non-profit organization which seeks to ignite a sustained passion for the Irish Arts through access, education, and participation.
