The biggest headline, rightly, belonged to Masters winner Scottie Scheffler.
A very big headline belonged to Tiger Woods, who made the cut and played four rounds at Augusta National after sustaining horrific injuries in February of last year when his car left the road.
But there was another headline, an Irish one.
In a groundbreaking feat, Irish golf secured second and joint third in a golf major.
Rory McIlroy roared back to form with a magnificent 64 in the final round, an effort that included holing out for a birdie from a bunker on eighteen.
Shane Lowry kept his cool over four challenging days and secured joint third place.
So at the end of 72 holes two Irish players featured in the top four.
At the outset of the tournament four Irish players took to the famed August sward. Padraig Harrington just missed the cut, but Seamus Power, in his Masters debut, secured a highly respectable joint 24th place.
