Pierce Turner, the Wexford singer-songwriter long resident in Manhattan, has been getting a lot of attention back in Ireland, where he spends part of the year, for his latest album, “Terrible Good,” including being picked as the RTE Radio One “Album of the Week.” It gets its New York launch at Joe’s Pub on St. Patrick’s Day, at 7 p.m., with what he calls his “superman band” -- Gerry Leonard on guitar (Bowie, Rufus Wainwright), Tony Shanahan, bass (Patti Smith, Beck), Yuval Lion, drums (David Byrne) and Fred Parcells on trombone. Tickets at publictheater.org; and for more information about Turner and the new album go to his website here.
