Another Armada

Pic of Day: There hasn't been this many navy ships off the Irish coast since, well, the Spanish Armada in 1588. With the arrival of a Russian flotilla for live fire exercises just outside the Irish Exclusive Economic Zone warships from several other nations have turned up to keep an eye on things. The French navy is on station as is the Royal Navy and the Irish Naval Service. And pictured in a photo taken by the Irish Air Corps is the Arleigh Burke Class destroyer USS Roosevelt. Thus far at least, the Spanish have kept their distance. Irish Defence Forces photo via RollingNews.ie.
