President Emmanuel Macron Visits Ireland

Pic of Day: Elbow to elbow and shoulder to shoulder. French president Emmanuel Macron was on a one day state visit to Ireland today. He is pictured with Taoiseach Micheál Martin. Macron also met with  President Michael D Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin. The French leader described Ireland as "occupying a precious place at the heart of the European dream."

Writing in the guest book of Áras an Uachtaráin, Mr. Macron said the invitation was a great honor and a source of inspiration.
