An Irish American in the Wings

With the announcement by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo that he will resign, the state's lieutenant governor, Kathy Hochul, is poised to step into the top political job as the Empire State's first ever woman governor. Hochul is Irish American, her family name being Kathleen Mary Courtney. She is well known in the state's Irish American community in part due to her penning a personal profile in the Irish Echo for St. Patrick's Day.
