The death has taken place of Peter McKiernan, known as “Mr. Catskills” and a longtime Irish entertainer who was among those featured in a film documentary several years ago entitled “Dancing at the Crossroads: the Irish Catskills.” Mr. McKiernan, according to his family, was uncle to Kelly Ann McKiernan-Sherry, Richard Sherry and Kennedy Sherry; brother to the late Michael McKiernan, and brother-in-law to Eileen McKiernan. His late parents were Hugh and June McKiernan. There will be a wake at McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, 385 Main Street, Farmingdale, NY on Saturday, October 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, October 4, again from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Killian’s Church, 485 Conklin Street, Farmingdale on Monday, October 5 at 11 a.m.
