The county banners are an iconic feature of the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Some of them have been on annual display for many decades. From time to time a county steps off with a new banner and this year it was Derry which unfurled, for the first time, a new county banner featuring the image of the late Martin McGuinness.
