Peekskill Elks Lodge 744 hosted an event for the 30th Anniversary Peekskill St Patrick’s Parade on Saturday, March 9. The gathering included a ceremonial toast for the 69th Regiment and also recognized late members of the community, including esteemed former Parade Chair Jack Murphy who died recently. The event was attended by 69th Pipe Major Joe Brady, Peekskill legislators, Saint Patrick’s Day Parade officials, members of the AOH, LAOH, organizers of Hudson Valley Irish Fest, Elks Club officers and parade honorees. Pictured is an aide to District 40 New York State Senator Pete Harckham, David Zeiger, presenting Dan Dennehy, AOH National Director and 2019 Peekskill St Patrick’s Parade co-Grand Marshal, with a framed copy of the recently passed New York State Resolution recognizing the Centenary of the first Dáil Eireann and Ireland’s Declaration of Independence in 1919. New York Hibernians in New York State secured passage of the resolution in January.
