The all-Irish cast of “The Naturalists” – Michael Mellamphy, John Keating, Sarah Street and Tim Ruddy – was in fine form during a midday break in rehearsal last week at the Irish Arts Center. Set in a rural hamlet in County Monaghan, the play by Jaki McCarrick follows the story of Francis and Billy Sloane, whose isolated existence is shaken by the arrival of the mysterious Josie.
The Pond Theatre Company production is a world premiere that will run at Walkerspace, 46 Walker St., New York, N.Y. 10013 from Sept. 7-23.
