Bales of straw make a pretty picture on a gold-colored field on a farm outside Naas, Co. Kildare. Farmers, however, are saying the parched ground caused by the unusually hot weather has seriously stunted the growth of cereal crops, affecting the yield and in some cases making it only suitable for horse feed.
