A ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Good Friday Agreement was organized by church groups from Cavan and Fermanagh at the bridge which links the counties. Senator Mitchell last visited the bridge site in 1998 when he laid one of the beams. It was officially opened a year later and named after Sen. Mitchell to acknowledge his work for the Good Friday Agreement.
